The Goal:
Promote teamwork: Encourage collaboration and camaraderie among members.
Create a level playing field: Allow cars of different specifications to compete on a fair basis.
How it Works:
EVENT FRAMEWORK
Lap Allocation
Team Planning: Each team should determine the sequence in which their drivers will race.
One Car, One Driver: Only one car and driver from the team are allowed on the track at any given time.
Lap Distribution:
4-Driver Team: 5 laps + 5 laps + 6 laps + 6 laps = 22 laps
3-Driver Team: 7 laps + 7 laps + 8 laps = 22 laps
2-Driver Team: 11 laps + 11 laps = 22 laps
Lap Timing
Focus on Early Laps: The first [5, 6, 7, 8, 9, or 11] laps of each driver's stint will be considered for timing, depending on the team's composition.
Pit Stop Penalties: Time spent in the pit for any reason will be added to the driver's total lap time.
Fair Play: To ensure fairness, no driver can complete more than two laps more than their teammates. If this occurs, their fastest lap time will be replaced with their slowest lap time.
Ballast Timing
This ballast system helps to level the playing field and ensure fair competition between cars of varying performance.
Benchmark: Swift Sports average lap time: 2 minutes 55 seconds
Ballast Time: For cars in categories faster than the Swift Sports, add a ballast time to each lap.
Example:
Group A - Suzuki Swift Sport, Honda Jazz, Toyota Vios.
Group B +5 seconds per lap - Honda EG/EK/DC2, Lotus Elise, Mini Cooper S
Group C +10 seconds per lap - Honda DC5/FD2/S2000, Toyota 86, Lotus Exige
Group D +15 seconds per lap - GR Yaris, Honda FK2/8, Volkswagen Golf/Scirocco GTI, Renault Megane RS, Seat Leon Cupra, Mitsubishi Evolution
Group E +20 seconds per lap - Audi Quattro S3/S4, BMW 1M/M2/M3/M4/235/335, , Mercedes A45
Group F +25 seconds per lap - Audi TTRS, GR Supra, Nissan GTR
Group G +30 seconds per lap - Audi R8 , Ferrari, Honda NSX, Lamborghini, Lotus Exige/Emira, McLaren, , Porsche 911
Transponder
Individual Transponders: Each car will be assigned a unique transponder.
No Swapping: Swapping transponders between cars will result in disqualification.
Relay Procedure
Color-Coded Identification: Drivers 1 to 4 will be assigned different colored tags with their names written on them.
Reporting to Marshal: At the start of each driver's stint, they must report to the TCC Marshal stationed at the pit exit.
One Car at a Time: Only one team member is allowed on the track at any given time to minimize traffic and ensure safety.
Time Penalty: If two team members are found on the track simultaneously, the team may be subject to a time penalty.
By following these procedures, we can ensure a fair and organized relay event.
Event Results
The team with the shortest total time after applying the ballast timing and any penalties will be declared the winner of the TCC 22 Team Relay.
